Game 6: Cavaliers vs. the Bulls
November 5, 2009
The following is my 6th game review.
Embarrassed by the Browns? Now owner Randy Lerner is taking questions from the media only via e-mail. SI calls the Browns “the closest thing the NFL has to a daily soap opera”.
Here are my top 10 ways to deny your team’s the Cleveland Browns:
10. “I don’t believe the season has started yet.”
9. “I only go to the games for the beer.”
8. “Their record is 1 loss, 7 wins.”
7. “I paint my face like a dawg to scare the neighbors.”
6. “I only wear orange and brown colors because they’re slimming.”
5 “Art Modell moved the Browns to Baltimore 10 years ago!”
4. “I’m a foreign exchange student.”
3. “You must be thinking of the Cleveland Cavaliers.”
2. “I live 100 miles north of Columbus.” (quote from the mayor of Akron)
And the number one way to deny your team’s the Cleveland Browns:
“The Browns? I think that soap opera’s on NBC.”
My review of the big game: the Cavs vs. the Bulls:
This was not a pretty game. Slow, like the Cavs were playing knee-deep in peanut butter. The Cavs shot just 41%. And am I the only one who thinks Shaq and Z shouldn’t play at the same time, the two big guys just clog up the lanes to the basket?
My MVP of the game: Jiffy.
Final score: Cavs 85, Bulls 86.
Cumulative score: Cavs 561, Opponents 538.
Your comments are always well received.

ReplyDeleteI was surprised when we aquired Shaq. We already have an old, overweight, one-dimensional, overpaid center who is past his prime. Although it's nice that they are old enough that they can combine for about 50 minutes per game, so they rarely need to be on the floor together. The team looks extra tall when they are out there together, but they need to play like they are extra tall.
I was watching the game last night and was thinking to myself "Now wait a second, what is the Cavs' record again? I know they've lost 2 games, but are they 3-2 or 2-2?". Then I remembered that on Aunt Louise's Sports Review, the most recent entry was for game 5, and deduced (through a complicated algorithim too complex for those I would consider "regular" readers), that the Cavs were 3-2.
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to let you know what a profound impact you've had on my sports viewing experience. Keep up the good work!
Additionally, I would like to pose the question: Are we at the point that inevitably comes each season where we root against the Browns for a better draft pick? When we pick #1 overall we have a much higher success rate at killing a player's career than when we pick lower. I believe the Browns may be the best in the business at that.
ReplyDeleteAny thoughts on the recent Indians staffing changes? Could Manny Acta also coach the Browns (and if he could, would we want him to)?
This is great stuff how do I become a follower, I need more.......
ReplyDeleteI like chunky peanut butter......
How about a top 10 ways to deny you live in Cleveland........
